Broking Assistant.

Mainly administration but I have started to focus more on clients.

What were you doing before this role?

I was a Team Leader in a restaurant.

How has the Apprenticeship helped you?

It has given me the opportunity to have a stable future.

How has the Apprenticeship helped your company?

It has given them the opportunity to develop someone into the way they need, which means when I finish my apprenticeship they have an employee who already knows the business.

How does your role fit into the business?

I help with the administration for the account handlers to give them more time for them to focus on the more technical side of their role.

Learning new things and speaking to clients. It never seems like a boring day with the different obstacles you have to face.

What do you need to be successful in your role?

There are a lot of things you need like knowledge, experience and certain skills but for me that all comes from dedication. If you’re willing to learn all the different things the company can offer, you will not only develop yourself to be successful but you’ll also make the business more successful.

I have recently just started to study for the first level which is the Foundation Insurance Test

Getting to go to so many great events; I’ve been to Manchester and Birmingham at BIBA events. It really is an amazing experience.

What are the main benefits of working in the profession?

The insurance sector isn’t something that everyone knows a great deal about, so I am fortunate to get to know the profession. People will always need Insurance and as a broker we are part of that process.

What do you think you will be doing this time next year?

Hopefully this time next year I will be studying for a higher professional qualification while working as an Account Manager.
